A terrific first novel for young adults and adults as well. The author has a solid grasp on narrative and dialogue. The conversations among the four girls who are the main characters are realistic, real and in today’s vernacular.I’d recommend this book to the 14-and-over age group—and their moms.I can’t wait for more from Caroline Scutt!

~Gay Myers.

The story takes place in the late 1980’s, the decade in which I was in high school. It also takes place in the part of the country that I am from. It is about the issues that many teenage girls (and boys) face, even in today’s world. It is relevant, no matter the surroundings. Issues that will remain commonplace regardless of the world around us -teen pregnancy, dating, drugs, alcohol, death, love, and friendship. An eye opening first novel from a wonderful author, and a book that could be an excellent pathway to discussion between any teenager and parent. Well done, Caroline Scutt! –C. Shore
